Viet Nam, Sri Lanka hold first political consultancy
(VNA - 27/05/2012) - The first political consultancy between the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its Sri Lankan counterpart took place in the capital city of Colombo, Sri Lanka, on May 24-25.
The two sides discussed ways to beef up cooperation in politics, economics, trade, investment, agriculture, culture, science and technology.
Both sides exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern.
They reached consensus to implement the agreements reached by the two countries’ leaders during Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang’s visit to Sri Lanka in October 2011.
They also discussed preparations for the upcoming visit to Viet Nam by the Sri Lankan External Affairs Minister and the third session of the Viet Nam-Sri Lanka Joint Committee slated for Hanoi on July 16-17.
